Schooling in Assamese medium is a pre-requisite of the intending candidate.
Selection is a four-tier process.
  • A minimum of 55% in aggregate is necessary from HSLC to Graduation(Major), Post-graduation is counted seperately.
  • The candidate should qualify in a written examination held to test knowledge and understanding in a subject in which major is offered along with another paper on General Knowledge.
  • The candidate selected in the written test have to deliver a demonstration lecture on a topic of his/her choice.
  • The candidates who successfully complete the demonstration lecture are interviewed extensively to gauge apptitude and commitement to teaching.
